Grocery shopping can be a mundane, often tiring task, but what better way to perk yourself up than by indulging in a sweet treat? If you're a Costco member, then you're familiar with the aroma of baked goods that diffuses into the air as you inch closer to the bakery department. Cookies, cakes, muffins, pies, and breads line the shelves, filling you with excitement and delight.

Among Costco's copious bakery items is a mix of new releases and returning favorites, none of which go unnoticed by the warehouse's most devoted shoppers—and the numbers prove it. According to Costco's CEO Craig Jelinek, the company's global bakery sales were up 16% in 2022. "This was actually the biggest growth, in terms of bakery sales, over the last five years," he said during the company's shareholder meeting last January.

Over the last few months, Costco members have been announcing bakery item arrivals, prompting numerous commenters to enthusiastically praise the treats. As with any Costco product, prices and availability can vary by location. Here's a look at the latest bakery items that have Costco shoppers buzzing.
